about
On September 24, 2013, I found my mother and best friend in her bed; in "eternal sleep" as we tend to call it. This is the story of a very loved young man who took it for granted until it was gone; but then isn't that how it always goes? I can never thank you for everything you did for me mom, but one day I'll do my best to do the same for another.
lyrics
The keeper of my dreams she'd been for long as I'd remembered.
Every time my soul would start to fade, she'd do her best to re-light the ember.
She gave me everything she could and watched as I usurped them,
But I guess that's the price one pays to make from coal a gem.
So I'm gonna to be a diamond in the rough.
One day I will walk through that door... lord I know it'll be tough,
but I'm gonna be a diamond in the rough,
so you can light this exterior ablaze, and watch a phoenix rise on up.
I once knew this woman; she watched me day and night.
She cared and fed and loved and held and never let me out of her site.
Yeah,, she taught me a few things; basically everything I know.
Now she's gone and left this world, I feel alone and like I've nowhere I can go.
So I'm gonna to be a diamond in the rough.
One day I will walk through that door... lord I know it'll be tough,
but I'm gonna be a diamond in the rough,
so you can light this exterior ablaze, and watch a phoenix rise on up.
Well one day I'll have my own
I assume with little doubt.
When I do I'll sing this song for them,
and tell 'em; "child, you'll never go without."
"I'll be the keeper of your dreams, my child, for long as you'll remember.
Every time your soul may start to fade, I'll do my best to re-light the ember.
I'll be the keeper of your heart, my child. You'll never go without
Whilst my own keeper smiles, just watching from above, saying 'child, I never had a doubt.'"
